When did you decide that you wanted to be a parent? May 29 2015, 0 Comments

I had been out of school for a few years and in a good career.  I was dating someone that was pretty special, but we hadn't known each other more than a few months.  We were on a walk around a lake after dinner and as we held hands, he turned to me and said, "Why would you make a good mother?"

Talk about surprised.  I didn't think we were that serious and he is asking me this question.

I blurted out without hesitation, "Because I want to be".  I surprised myself.  Not because of the answer, but because how confident and quickly I responded.

I hadn't realized it, but for years and years I had been mulling over if I was "mom material".  Announcing that I wanted to be a Mom was very memorable to me.  All these years later, it helps me in the tough times to remember how much I wanted to be a Mom.

Once you decide that you want to be a parent, the next thing is to decide to be the best parent that you can.

what one nice thing will you do for yourself today?
